On this 1.5 to 2 hour dolphin watching tour you will get to see the common and bottlenose dolphins that frequent the Portuguese coastline in all their glory. The boat heads out past the famous grottos of Ponta da Piedade into open Atlantic water, where the crew reads the sea for fins, feeding birds and splashes on the horizon.
What you will see
Along the Algarve coast the common dolphin occurs in high numbers and is one of the most familiar species of cetacean: remarkably social, and among the fastest and highest-jumping dolphins, growing up to 2.55 metres. Bottlenose dolphins are the larger, curious ones that often come to ride the bow wave. On the way you will also keep an eye out for sea turtles and seabirds, all against the backdrop of one of the most stunning coastlines in Portugal.

- Dolphins are wild animals, so sightings can never be guaranteed, but the crews go out every day and know exactly where the pods have been feeding

Where you meet us depends on the activity.

When is the best time for Dolphin Watching Tour?
Boat trips out of Lagos run from April to October, with the most stable weather and the calmest sea in May and September. Mornings are usually flatter than afternoons, so an early departure is the safer bet if anyone in the group gets seasick.
How booking works
Dolphin Watching Tour starts at €40 per person. Pick your date, then pay securely with Stripe at checkout. We then confirm your place with the operator. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
Once we have the booking confirmed with the operator, we email you everything you need for the day. Meeting points move now and then, so the email is always the version to trust.
Booked through the shop, run by locals
We are a booking hub, not the operator: every activity is run by a certified local partner, and we tell you who you are meeting and where before you go. One message reaches a real person here for the whole trip, whether that is an activity, a surf lesson or a board rental for the days in between.
